South Jersey Times – Nine Pitman High School students joined the thirteen other schools throughout Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, and Salem County at the 2017 FBLA Southern Region Summit.

Students from these high schools attended the numerous speeches given at the workshop and participated in leadership and business skill developing activities.

Southern Region New Jersey FBLA Vice President, Starrchild Jackson, was in attendance, along with NJ FBLA President, Jessica Landolfi, both of whom greeted attendees and spoke about the FBLA-PBL organization.

NJ Senate President Senator Sweeney was the surprise Keynote speaker of the event. He gave an inspirational speech, and accepted a wide array of questions from students. At the conclusion of the speeches, students participated in exercises to foster innovation and leadership. Students had to think on their feet during one activity; groups had 10 minutes to create a commercial for a company including creating a company logo and had to present their commercial to a judging panel. Pitman students expressed how they enjoyed meeting other students from various schools and having an opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills.
