Senate President Stephen Sweeney
Deputy Speaker John Burzichelli
Assemblyman Adam Taliaferro

The Daily Journal – Senate President Steve Sweeney, Deputy Speaker John J. Burzichelli and Assemblywoman Celeste M. Riley encourage residents to follow the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s “Resolve to be Ready” Program outlining a plan to prepare families for potential emergencies or disasters.

The FEMA “Resolve to be Ready” program is designed to raise public awareness and to encourage individuals and communities to put together emergency preparation plans.

“Resolve to be Ready” provides information concerning four important steps to preparedness: be informed about what type of emergencies and disasters may occur in your area, make a family communications plan, build an emergency kit in advance, and promote community involvement in the emergency preparation process.

FEMA has also created a text messaging alert system in which subscribers can receive updates and alerts from FEMA.

FEMA does not charge for these texts and does not use personal cell numbers to track or for any type of commercial use.
