South Jersey Times – Some Salem County families received some help for the upcoming school year.

In what has become an annual event, the Book Bag and Supply Give-A-Way was held in the cafeteria of Salem High School Monday. Hundreds of students and parents went to the giveaway to receive free book bags and school supplies.

The Salem County NAACP organizes the event, with the supplies were donated by the non-profit organization Better Education for Kids, was open to all residents who live in the county.

Local leaders, including 3rd District Assemblyman Adam Taliaferro, were on hand for the event as more than 50 volunteers from the Salem High School football team, cheerleaders, and the community helped fill the book bags with pencils, books, and other school necessities.
