Senate President Stephen Sweeney
Deputy Speaker John Burzichelli
Assemblyman Adam Taliaferro – Senate President Steve Sweeney recently took a tour of the Oaks Integrated Care Facility in Cherry Hill. While there, he received a first-hand look at their early intervention support services and programs, according to the state senator’s office.

“Organizations such as Oaks Integrated Care do an immense amount of good for the community by supporting the most vulnerable populations in New Jersey,” Sweeney (D-3) said. “Those living with a mental illness, addiction or a developmental disability are far too often cast aside by society. The people at Oaks Integrated Care are not only dedicating their lives towards saving these individuals, they are also teaching New Jerseyans that we shouldn’t treat those living with disabilities as outcasts or problems, but valued members of our communities.”

Early intervention support services, like those provided by Oaks Integrated Care, aim to help patients manage issues without having to go to emergency services. Services include individual counseling, peer support, medication treatment, psychiatric consultation and support groups.

Oaks Integrated Care of Mount Holly administers the Opioid Overdose Recovery Program (OORP) in Burlington County to help combat the opioid epidemic that has devastated thousands of families across the country.

“Our mission is to empower and support individuals and their families to achieve emotional and physical wellness by providing quality health care, social services and mental health programs,” Oaks Integrated Care CEO Derry Holland said. “Every year, we are able to affect thousands of lives across the state and having locations in almost every county gives us broad reach and the ability to build stronger communities. We were honored to have the Senate President with us at one of our locations today.”

Oaks Integrated Care is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for children, adults and families living with a mental illness, addiction or developmental disability. The organization offers over 230 health and social service programs throughout New Jersey designed to meet the needs of the community with compassion.
