Today’s Sunbeam – As the weather cools and a new season approaches, many are finding fall to be a time to enjoy a new sense of retreat and quietude.
The state of New Jersey offers one of the most beautiful fall settings throughout the entire country, making it the perfect time of year for New Jerseyans to plan a fun and inexpensive day out with friends and family in Gloucester, Salem, and Cumberland counties.
Senate President Steve Sweeney, Assembly Deputy Speaker John J. Burzichelli, and Assemblywoman Celeste M. Riley would like to offer some affordable tourism options for residents during the upcoming fall months.
“Our district is home to many cultural, historic and recreational sites,” Sweeney said.
“We encourage our constituents to explore the wide variety of fall attractions and great local businesses that our region has to offer when they are looking for activities to do with family and friends.”
For more information on local attractions, the Third District legislators recommend visiting the state of New Jersey’s tourism website at www.visitnj.org.
This website offers a wealth of information and helps users plan inexpensive trips to various New Jersey destinations.
The site also allows users to browse attractions by region and updates a monthly list of fun events and activities for any season.
“The Garden State has many hidden treasures, but at the top of the list one will find the unsurpassed, award winning New Jersey vineyards and wineries where visitors can enjoy new and secluded sights and smells,” added Burzichelli.
If residents would like a 2012 State Tourism guide or a newly published state map, copies will be available at the Third Legislative District mobile office on Thursday, October 4 from 10:30 am – 1:30 pm at the Pennsville Public Library.
“New Jersey is home to a rich and rewarding art scene that is entertaining, educational, and very affordable,” Riley said. “Take the time with kids to spend a weekend afternoon exploring the enlightening cultural venues that are available all through our home state of New Jersey.”
