South Jersey Times – A Third District satellite office will be set up at the Bridgeton Public Library, 150 E. Commerce St., on Tuesday, May 5, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
“Our satellite offices are a chance to provide greater accessibility to our residents in the convenience of their neighborhood and surrounding area,” said Senate President Steve Sweeney in a press release.
“Residents contact our legislative offices on a daily basis for assistance in communicating with a state department, request certification for their notary public application, and share comments about important pending state legislation.”
The satellite office is hosted by staff representatives who are available to assist residents with issues such as unemployment claim difficulties, energy assistance programs, professional licensing matters, consumer complaints, or any matter with a state agency.
“We recommend residents stop by our Bridgeton satellite office, whether they are having an issue with a state agency or would like to share concerns about a piece of legislation,” added Assembly Deputy Speaker John Burzichelli in the statement.
“Our permanent satellite location makes our services more accessible to residents of Bridgeton and the surrounding area.”
The visit will highlight resources for seniors, including information on New Jersey’s state benefit programs. Copies of this year’s Property Tax Reimbursement program applications for first-time applicants (also known as the “Senior Freeze”) will also be available for residents to pick up.
The deadline to apply for the Property Tax Reimbursement program is June 1.
The satellite office will continue at the Bridgeton Library on the first Tuesday of each month and will be held on June 2 andJuly 7.
